All of our wood is sourced within the UK with the majority within from yorkshire, we do not import any of our raw timber !
Seasoned Softwood for 2024-2025 season was sourced very locally within Yorkshire with less than 30 miles from the woodland. 
 
Hardwood vs Softwood:
There is almost no difference in heat output between hard and soft woods by weight.
Softwoods are approximately 40-50% bulkier in volume than the same weight of hardwood. 
If you had the same volume of wood the Softwood logs will burn quicker than the hardwood logs, as Hardwood burns longer than softwood due to hardwoods having a tighter grain.​
Hardwood is more expensive than softwood, so Softwood is the more affordable option.
Softwood is only advised to be used in closed appliances such as wood/multi-fuel stoves. 
Hardwood does not spit, so it is better suited for open fires.

Our Ideal fire is a mixture of both Hardwood and softwood so a loose cubic metre of each to get the best of both woods with a saving on buying just hardwood alone.
 
Your logs will be delivered as two LOOSE loads on the trailer (not in a log bags) the logs are only in the cubic metre bags for storge and transport purposes. See DELIVERY page for video on how we deliver. 
The cubic metre bags we use to measure volume, store & transport the logs in measure : 1.05x 0.96 x 1.00 = 1m3
 
Upon delivering we will reverse the trailer as near as possible to the desired location you want your logs. The trailer will then be tipped up, with the bag(s) being chained in to the trailer, your logs then fall out into a pile at the foot of the trailer ready for you to move and stack.
(Most customers have a tarpaulin they leave out for the logs to be tipped onto)
 
One of the main reasons we deliver the logs loosely is to reduce the plastic waste from our business as we re-use the log bags up to 10 times. If you are going to stack your logs in a shed or log store then you may find a loose load delivered to be more suitable and more cost effective.
 
In 2020 we introduced a £5 off per extra load ordered multi-buy discount for our customers who order larger quantities to same adress on same delivery which is applied to the best of both Soft & Hardwood bundle. 
 
Once you have ordered we will contact you either via phone or email with the available delivery dates and times in your area. This will be a 2 hour time slot which start at 8am in the morning and finish at 6/8pm on an evening for example: 8-10am / 10-12noon / 12-2pm / 2-4pm / 4-6pm 
 
Our standard logs are cut at 9/10inches which is the size we find fits most stoves and not too small that you are having to keep filling your stove.
 
We do offer small 8inch (£5 Extra per cubic metre) and larger 20inch logs in seaoned hardwood. Available in loose cubic metres however there is a very limited stock of these that have been seasoned once gone they are gone.
